“Protect our People”, February 2021

In February 2021, the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition (CVC) recognized the critical work of Stg. Building Bridges…Saving Lives (SBBSL) by awarding a grant. This grant was specifically allocated to SBBSL to procure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for our Community Outreach workers, Peer Education teams, and other frontline staff. The aim was to ensure the safety and well-being of these essential personnel, enabling them to continue their vital HIV prevention efforts with Key Populations even amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This support from CVC not only facilitated the provision of necessary protective gear but also reaffirmed the importance of our work in safeguarding vulnerable communities. With the necessary resources in hand, our teams were able to maintain their outreach activities effectively while adhering to stringent safety protocols. This initiative exemplifies the power of collaboration and collective action in protecting the health and rights of those most in need.
