“Suriname: A Future Without Waste”
Rooted in Climate Justice, Powered by Community
This is more than a cleanup it’s a movement for climate justice. In Suriname, especially in vulnerable communities, unmanaged waste harms our health and environment.
It’s not just about trash it’s about fairness. Those with the least often face the greatest impact. That’s environmental injustice.
Our goal is to raise awareness, spark action, and build a waste system that’s fair, sustainable, and inclusive.
Together, we can create a cleaner, healthier, and more just Suriname where no one is left behind.
In many communities across Suriname, waste is more than just an environmental issue it is closely linked to social inequality. The buildup of garbage, inadequate waste management systems, and the resulting health and environmental impacts tend to hit the most vulnerable populations the hardest.
This article explores the deep connection between waste and inequality, and offers practical pathways toward building fairer, more equitable solutions for all of Suriname.
